The Role 🎯
We’re hiring a Finance and Operations Associate to build the financial discipline and operational backbone behind Specter’s growth. You’ll work directly with the founders to keep our financial engine running smoothly, ensure capital efficiency, and bring clarity and structure to the internal processes that matter most.
This is a high-trust role for someone who loves numbers, thrives on organisation, and wants to be a key part of how a company scales. You’ll manage AP/AR, support payroll, track subscriptions and costs, oversee vendor relationships, and help drive renewal discipline. You’ll be the person who makes sure nothing slips — and that we run as efficiently as possible.
If you want broad exposure across finance, HR, revenue ops, and general operations — and the chance to help shape our internal systems from the ground up — this is for you.
What You’ll Be Doing 🚀
- Own accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all inbound and outbound payments are timely, accurate, and documented.
- Support monthly payroll, coordinating with founders and external providers to maintain smooth processes.
- Assist with people operations, including onboarding/offboarding, contracts, employee updates, HR records, and compliance.
- Track and manage all subscriptions, renegotiate tools, and ensure we run a tight and efficient cost structure.
- Monitor company spending, create cost reports, and surface insights that help us stay capital efficient.
- Support renewal workflows, helping coordinate reminders, follow-ups, and late payment processes with the AM team.
- Own internal documentation and financial admin, making sure everything is organised, accurate, and audit-ready.
- Jump into general operations work — vendor management, admin processes, and internal organisation.
Who You Are 🧩
- 1–3 years of experience in finance operations, accounting support, admin, or people operations.
- Detail-obsessed — you double-check everything and take pride in precise numbers and clean documentation.
- Organised and methodical, with strong operational instincts.
- Digitally fluent — comfortable with accounting software, financial tools, spreadsheets, and modern SaaS workflows.
- Cost-conscious — you think in terms of budgets, efficiency, and ROI.
